Un nuovo approccio allo studio della elettrosensibilità

Uno studio condotto da università ed ente di ricerca (pubblico) olandese.



Abbiamo esplorato l'associazione tra l'esposizione a RF-EMF nella vita quotidiana e l'insorgenza di individui  elettrosensibili  che hanno  indossati esposimetri e  tenuto diari elettronici per un periodo di tre settimane. I dati sono stati analizzati utilizzando l'analisi delle serie temporali in cui l'esposizione misurata e registrata nel diario era correlata con disturbi fisici.
Risultati: abbiamo trovato correlazioni statisticamente significative tra l'esposizione percepita e quella effettiva a wireless   (WiFi - velocità di variazione e numero di picchi al di sopra della soglia) e stazioni base  (GSM + UMTS downlink, rate of change) e punteggi legati ai disturbi sentiti in quattro dei sette partecipanti. In due persone una maggiore esposizione a campi elettromagnetici è stata associata a punteggi più alti dei sintomi e in altre due persone è stata associata a punteggi più bassi.

Spagna: tribunale riconosce la elettrosensibilità ed i danni relativi



Un giudice spagnolo riconosce come "grande disabilità" 
l'elettrosensibilità di cui soffre un soggetto di 52 anni,con tutti i benefici che ne conseguono. 

Quindi invalidità permanente totale con la pensione relativa alle 'grandi disabilità'

Da AIE arriva il trailer del docu/film "SENSIBILE"  da poco è stato presentato al film festival internazionale del Peloponneso in Grecia ( oltre ad altre selezioni internazionali) dove ha riscontrato un buon successo. 

Sono previste delle programmazioni anche in Italia ( selezione presso il Doc in tour  nelle sale cinematografiche delle principali città dell'Emilia Romagna, oltre a Roma, Milano, Lecce,Bari,ecc).

Conferma diagnosi strumentale per la elettrosensibilità

Recentissimo lavoro pubblicato dai ricercatori Heuser in una qualificata e rinomata rivista internazionale  Reviews on Environmantal Health

è di grande rilevanza perché  dimostra una correlazione diretta tra sintomatologia da elettrosensibilità ed il risultato di scansione con risonanza magnetica e poi  positron emission tomography (PET) and single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT)

Gli Autori riportano e dimostrano valori anomali in alcune aree del cervello e di fatto propongo che questo protocollo possa essere utilizzato come strumento di diagnosi della elettrosensibilità

Se non erro, anche il Prof Belpomme in Francia utilizza delle scansioni di risonanza e la PET per il suo protocollo.

Passo importante anche se non so quanto una persona elettrosensbile si senta pronto ad affrontare questi test.

Inquinamento elettromagnetico e salute fra controversie, ricerca indipendente ed associazionismo Il caso del movimento degli elettrosensibili

Vi riporto al link di  un bellissimo lavoro (: link    )    scritto da una nostra amica del Mondo Noelettrosmog, Milena Greco.

Leggetelo con attenzione, perché a mio giudizio è un lavoro unico ed originale che tratta tutti gli aspetti socio economici legati alla lotta contro l'elettrosmog.

Il valore è legato al fatto che lei ha unito una review scientifica, in italiano, di buon spessore scientifico ed aggiornata, con un riscontro giurisprudenziale e normativo, aggiungendo una raccolta organica di esperienze di diversi ES (cosa nuova), con una visione storica della scienza medica alla luce (anche del passato) dei 'constrain' legati agli interessi economico-sociali: qui c'è l'approccio antropologico legato alla sua preparazione.

Francia: le aziende debbono proteggere i dipendenti dalle onde elettromagnetiche

Le aziende debbono procedere con le misurazioni negli ambienti di lavoro cominciando dal wifi ...
I lavoratori debbono essere informati se ci sono ambienti dove i valori sono superiori a quelli limite.

Qui sotto si riporta la esperienza di una elettrosensibile francese che tuttora è a casa in malattia perché non si riesce a trovare nell'ambiente degli aggiustamenti per rendere la sua permanenza accettabile. E' un ingegnere ed ha perso sia ogni possibilità di realizzazione professionale che 2/3 del suo salario. Indicano in 70000 gli elettrosensibili in Francia.

... perché ci sono state oltre 70 segnalazioni di genitori che riscontravano che il braccialetto che veniva dato al posto del famoso happy meal a bambini, provocava irritazione e bruciore al braccio.
il dispositivo è nato per misurare il livello di attività fisica della persona.

Ministero del Lavoro USA pensa ai criteri per alloggiare gli elettrosensibili nel posto di lavoro

Una struttura tecnica di questo ente federale americano, JAN, presenta  in questo documento approcci e criteri per utili da adottare da parte del datore di lavoro per dare ad una persona elettrosensibile condizioni di lavoro che rispettino la malattia con i disturbi conclamati.

Anche se premettono le difficoltà esistenti a definire la malattia ... però bisogna dare una risposta a queste necessità ! ...

Gli informatici si scoprono elettrosensibili

Interessante lavoro di ricercatori indiani che hanno elaborato un questionario che è stato diffuso presso professionisti della informatica.

Questi per professione e per abito mentale sono dei grandi utilizzatori dei vari device:  in primis smartphone, ma anche forni a microonde ed altri gadget con Bluetooth.

Guarda caso vengono rilevati i disturbi tipici della elettrosensibilità, senza ovviamente nominarla !

An enormous growth in the telecommunication industry has led to an increase in the usage of a number of wireless
devices. The impact of working in an environment saturated with wireless radiation needs to be exploreed. 
 A questionnaire was prepared based on 18 non-specific health symptoms and medical conditions. It was circulated among professionals (n=200) in the Information Technology (IT) companies and the data was statistically analyzed.
Both male and female IT professionals possessed cell phones (100%), 19.66% used cordless phones and 2.25% of them used the landline telephones. When compared to the males, it was found that 80.4% of the females used wireless computer networks (p>0.01), 27.2% used the microwave ovens (p>0.01) and 47.8% used Bluetooth devices (p>0.001). 

Significant non-specific symptoms (p>0. 001) seen in females were headaches, tremors, depression, blurred vision, irritability, 
difficulty concentrating, chronic pain, pain in teeth and deteriorated fillings, and dryness of lips, tongue, mouth and eyes. 
The males had poor short-term memory, difficulty sleeping and fatigue. Significant medical conditions noted in the females were allergies and asthma at 18.5% (p>0.001) and skin problems at 26.1% (p>0.01), and in the males were eye-related problems at 21.1% (p>0.01). 
Non-thermal effects of wireless radiationneed to be investigated globally in the coming years.

Strategia per il riconoscimento della elettrosensibilità

Riporto la conversazione tra Marine Richard, che è la giornalista francese che ha vinto la causa contro lo stato francese per il riconoscimento della sua elettrosensbilità ottenendo anche una pernsione e Olle Johansson.

Qui motiva la sua idea (che è quella che Olle Johansson ripete da anni) che bisogna impegnarsi per veder riconosciuta la elettrosensibilità come invalidità e non pensare di ottenere il riconoscimento come malattia.

Thank you very much for your interest and concern about electrohypersensitivity.
As a person with EHS, as an activist and as the first 'case' of EHS recognized by a French tribunal as impaired I wish to tell you a word about this important question : what is the best strategy to help people with EHS (and fast !) ? Impairment of disease ?
In my opinion, it is important to see three different aspects :

1/ the environment is polluted by EMFs and all beings on earth are impacted. No scientific doubt on this point.

2/ people with EHS GET sick in a specific environment, different from one person to an other. So it is at the moment impossible to establish a simple 'systematic cause>systematic consequence' scheme. We would lose time if we fight on this aspect at the political level as the lobbies use this difference of sensitivity to create a doubt. Time we don't have as so many people are suffering !!!
Each person with EMF sensitivities develops a specific nervous response to specific EMFs, at a specific moment probably because of several different factors (nervous over-excitability, high exposure, exposure to chemicals, PTSD, genetic factors – we don't know the cocktail yet because it has never been studied). Considering that, it is impossible to prove EHS is a disease. But it is easy to prove that the symptoms appear and disappear depending on the environment. For example, a very easy way to test me (only me as we all are different) : we discovered that if I touch the skin of a person who is using the metallic trackpad of a computer plugged with electric power (and a bad earthing), I can feel a strange sensation in my hand, if you unplug the computer, my strange sensation stops. This test is 100% sure. But only on me ! We tested it several times. People without MY EMF sensitivity can't feel the difference. So we can say that I have an immediate reaction to EMFs. In the example of the trackpad, it doesn't cause me a disability. But it simply proves that I do have a reaction to the changes of the environment. If it is so for me why not for other people with different frequencies and more serious symptoms ? As a consequence, EHS can be an impairment. Nobody can tell us the contrary.

3/ EHS as an intolerance is reversible, there are ways to use neuroplasticity to go back to the sensitivity one had before EHS appeared. There are cases of full recovery or real improvement. But it doesn't work with everyone, it takes time in a protected zone and it doesn't change the fact that the environment IS toxic when it is polluted by EMFs. People with EHS and 'normal' people with a consciousness should be able to choose the environment they live in. If EHS is recognized as an impairment, the states will have no other choice but to create protected areas where we would be able to live, impaired and not impaired, all together with bees, robins and tomato plants also physically stressed by EMFs (as proved by the research)!

I am very, very impressed by your elegant summary, it is so right-to-the-point. If everyone could see what you have learnt - the very hard way - then they would only argue for a functional impairment recognition of electrohypersensitivity, and an immediate clean-up of the environment, as well as an immediate economic reimbursement for all cases of electrohypersensitivity.
 As you point out, an impairment is - by definition - not defined by someone else or proven by certain tests. The impairment is always individual, personal, and private, and develops when in contact with an inferior environment. [N.B. Remember that functional impairments are only based upon each individual’s impaired accessability to - and contact with - an inferior environment (cf. the UN), thus, there is actually no need for any “recognition” in local laws (cf. the UN).]
 Accessibility measures are key issues for allowing electrohypersensitive persons, and others with functional impairments, to gain/regain their rightful independence. If such measures are allowed, then full recovery or real improvement will come. As you point out, it doesn't - however - work for everyone, it takes time in a protected zone, and it doesn't change the fact that the environment IS toxic when it is polluted by EMFs. Also, always remember that inaccessibility and discrimination are prohibited by law, so society must act.
 I have always said that we should make it easy for us – by making sure to connect to all the UN texts, realize that it’s the whole environment that must be accessability-adapted, and do not forget that such accessibility measures actually are 100% positive for everyone to share! People with functional impairments should have full access to the entire society, not just a small part of it. The human rights for all of us, regardless of functional impairments, are that we should live an equal life in a society based on equality. It’s that simple.(I have never heard anyone voluntarily wanting to give up their human rights, so be sure not to have any country forcing it’s citizens to it; it would be extremely shameful.)
 I agree, it is impossible to prove electrohypersensitivity to be a disease ... since the sick and ill 'patient', with the 'disease', is the environment, not the person.

Riporto la traduzione in inglese di un articolo il cui link è riportato in fondo, in francese. Fa il punto sulla EHS in Svizzera.

Punto nodale è il non riconoscimento da parte della classe medica della malattia per cui l'ente pubblico (cantonale) che gestisce la Assicurazione per le Disabilità  a sua volta non la riconosce.

Si parla del protocollo Austriaco come proposta metodologia di certificazione, come della importanza della disintossicazione nei confronti dei metalli pesanti . Viene indicato anche un centro medico per la disintossicazione.

Electrohypersensitivity in Switzerland

Inquiry:  Electrohypersensitivity can make life nearly impossible.  The phenomenon is given far too little recognition in Switzerland.

Migraine headaches, skin burns, joint pains, sharp stinging sensations, this is just a small sample of the physical suffering experienced daily by electrohypersensitive persons when they are exposed to electromagnetic fields or electrosmog.

Ills that are sufficiently painful to completely upset living.  The status of this disorder remains unclear in many countries, including Switzerland.

In August, in France, the disability of a woman was recognized by the Incapacity Dispute Court of Toulouse because of her electrohypersensitivity (EHS).  In evaluating her functional disability at 85%, the French court allowed her to receive an allowance as a handicapped adult, a first in the Hexagone which could set a judicial precedent and also radically transform the status of French electrohypersensitive persons.



From cause to symptom

In Switzerland, for the time being the recommendations of WHO are being followed, which recognize the symtpoms of affected persons but do not confirm the causal link between their ills and non-ionizing radiation.  "These persons are suffering, it's undeniable.  But at present, there is no scientific evidence of a causal relationship between exposure to electromagnetic fields and the symptoms of persons suffering from electrohypersensitivity", explains Dr. Isabelle Rossi, deputy cantonal physician for canton Vaud.

A lack of causality which risks to cause a problem if an electrohypersensitive person knocks on the door of the Disability Insurance (Assurance invalidité - AI) in Switzerland.  "In order for us to be able to consider this, we need to have a medical certificate which links the professional environment of the applicant and the suffering he is experiencing.  Since in Switzerland, this link is not recognized by the medical profession, there is little chance that the case would be solid and thus accepted," explains Dominique Dorthe, spokesperson for the Disability Insurance Office for canton Vaud.  He adds that although his office has never handled cases of electrohypersensitivity, it does not mean that affected persons have not requested its services for related disorders like depression.

Physicians' lack of awareness

This lack of recognition directly affects the detection of electrohypersensitivity.  "Diagnosis is basically complicated," explains Anton Fernhout of the Association romande alerte (ARA), which fights for more restrictive norms concerning electrosmog.  "The symptoms are non-specific and can be related to many illnesses.  In Switzerland, the medical profession is little aware of environmental medicine.  Practitioners who make the link are rare."  Some countries are nevertheless ahead regarding consideration of electrohypersensitivity.  In particular, Sweden treats the issue very seriously especially when it is linked to the professional activity of the affected person.  "Austrian physicians have developed a protocol for the diagnosis of electrohypersensitivity but few Swiss practitioners are aware of its existence and even fewer use it.  It is particularly true in the case of French-speaking Switzerland," regrets the vice-president of ARA, an environmental engineer by training.

Ways exist, however, to alleviate the suffering of electrohypersensitive persons.  An intoxication by heavy metals [see text below] could be the cause in certain cases.  But according to Anton Fernhout, it is necessary to try to provide places that are less exposed to non-ionizing radiation, such as the apartment building in Zurich which is exclusively for environmentally intoxicated persons.  It must be noted that there exists practically no white zone in Switzerland.

Right now, it is not a question of revising the norms in place for emission levels of relay antennas or mobile phones.  The cantonal department of the environment which is dealing with the issue explains that technological surveillance is in place and they are looking at studies on the subject.  There is a plethora of studies but their conclusions cast doubt.  "Most of the works deal with acute, short-term exposure to electromagnetic fields.  There are, by contrast, less studies on the long-term effect of exposure to electromagnetic fields on health.  These studies do not imply the existence of a causal link which, however, does not mean that there is the absence of an effect," comments the deputy cantonal physician.

Moreover, the fact that many researchers are financed by the telecommucations giants leaves one unsure of their impartiality.

A culprit called heavy metals

Aluminum, lead, mercury, silver, tin.  These "heavy" metals are present in the human body.  Aluminum is for example used as an adjuvant in certain vaccines, while mercury is present in old dental fillings (still current in France due to cost considerations).  These substances, however, are potentially toxic to the body.  They represent a credible indicator for electrohypersensitive persons.  "In some persons, an excessive presence of heavy metals can damage the immune system and favor the proliferation of opportunistic conditions such as the fungal infection Candida albicans which is particularly electrosensitive", explains Dr. Daniel Chervet at Swiss Medical Detox in Nyon.  More generally, these heavy metals can affect the nervous system:  "Electromagnetic fields make the protective layer of the brain, the blood-brain-barrier, more permeable and this can favor the intoxication of the brain by heavy metals.   The practitioner has already treated patients suffering from EHS with chelation therapy, noting a decrease in symptoms.  For Anton Fernhout of ARA, if an intoxication by heavy metals can be the main factor causing electrohypersensitivity, then it can also occur after prolonged exposure to non-ionizing waves.  "This occurs with any intoxication;  the body is capable of stocking a certain dose of a toxic substance.  Once attaining a certain threshold, it is too much and the floodgates open."
