non  germina vicino a un router

Un gruppo di 5 ragazze ha effettuato un esperimento scientifico alla Scuola Hjallerup in North Jutland, Danimarca, ponendo semi di crescione in giardino in 12 vasche e divisi in due lotti. 

Entrambi i lotti sono stati collocati in differenti camere che hanno mantenuto la stessa temperatura, e hanno avuto la stessa quantità di acqua e luce solare nel corso di 12 giorni.

Ci si aspetterebbe che entrambe le serie di 6 vasche di crescere altrettanto bene, ma un lotto non ha nemmeno germinato. Il motivo? 

Essi sono stati collocati accanto a due router . Anche se non è chiaro esattamente perché questo è accaduto, si è pensato che la radiazione prodotta dai router è ciò che ferma la germinazione dei semi.

L’ esperimento delle ragazze è stato orientato alla verifica del potenziale impatto delle radiazioni dei telefoni su oggetti circostanti.

Non avevano i telefoni da utilizzare ma i router sono una buona alternativa. 

L'esperimento ha sicuramente catturato l'interesse della comunità scientifica internazionale ed è impostato per essere ripetuto in un più controllato ambiente <!--[if !vml]--><!--[endif]-->. 

Uno dei primi esperimenti controllati saranno svolte dal Prof. Olle Johansson dell'Istituto Karolinska di Stoccolma.

“Speriamo che possa far luce sul perché questo sta accadendo.”

Johansson ha detto che è impressionato dalla sperimentazione delle ragazze

e spera che continueranno nella carriera di ricerca quando saranno più grandi. 

Per il momento, le ragazze prese dall’ emozione hanno tutte deciso di non andare a letto con un telefono cellulare vicino ai loro letti per paura di avere un impatto negativo proprio come il crescione.

A group of 5 girls have carried out a science experiment at Hjallerup School in North Jutland, Denmark that saw garden cress seeds placed in 12 tubs and split into two batches. Both batches were placed in different rooms that remained the same temperature, and were given the same amount of water and sunlight over the course of 12 days.

You’d expect both batches of 6 tubs to grow equally well, but one set didn’t even germinate. The reason? They were placed next to two  routers. Although it’s unclear exactly why this happened, it is thought that the radiation produced by the routers is what stopped the seeds germinating.

The girls’ experiment was geared towards testing the potential impact of phone radiation on surrounding objects. They didn’t have phones to use though, so decided the routers were a good alternative. The experiment has certainly caught the interest of the international science community and is set to be repeated in a more controlled environment. One of the first controlled experiments will be carried out by Professor Olle Johansson from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm. Hopefully it will shed more light on why this is happening.

Johansson has said he’s impressed by the girl’s experiment and hopes they will continue into research careers when they are older. For the moment, the girls just find the attention exciting and have all decided not to sleep with a mobile phone anywhere near their beds for fear of it having some negative impact just like with the cress.
