5G. Previsto un forte aumento dei consumi energetici
In un consesso tecnico Semiconductor Engineering di Agosto 2018 alcuni tecnici hanno discusso sulle difficoltà di implementazione del 5G.
In sintesi, si dice che il passaggio alla infrastruttura per il 5G il consumo di energia elettrica è dai 10 alle 20 volte superiore rispetto la situazione attuale !!! Nota bene non il 10-20% in più !!!
"One thing that needs to be thought about holistically is the total power consumption, which will go up because of the infrastructure. For 5G infrastructure, the power consumption is at least 10 to 20 times what is consumed today. Imagine if you were to outfit an entire infrastructure end-to-end with 5G as it exists today. Nobody can afford 10 times the power consumption. What we believe will happen is over the next two years there will be aggressive reduction in terms of power consumption. How those innovations will happen is still to be determined."
