Studio epidemiologico inglese riporta forte relazione tra cellulare e neurinomi


In questo studio condotto dai soliti negazionisti , omettono come sempre le evidenze e smentiscono se stessi. Quasi triplicano i neurinomi  con la significatività statistica  e neanche viene riportato nelle conclusioni , anzi, capovolto!.

Abstract
Background Results from some retrospective studies suggest a possible increased risk of glioma and acoustic neuroma in users of mobile phones.
Methods The relation between mobile phone use and incidence of intracranial central nervous system (CNS) tumours and other cancers was examined in 791 710 middle-aged women in a UK prospective cohort, the Million Women Study. Cox regression models were used to estimate adjusted relative risks (RRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Women reported mobile phone use in 1999 to 2005 and again in 2009.
Results During 7 years’ follow-up, 51 680 incident invasive cancers and 1 261 incident intracranial CNS tumours occurred. Risk among ever vs never users of mobile phones was not increased for all intracranial CNS tumours (RR = 1.01, 95% CI = 0.90–1.14, P = 0.82), for specified CNS tumour types nor for cancer at 18 other specified sites. For long-term users compared with never users, there was no appreciable association for glioma (10+ years: RR = 0.78, 95% CI = 0.55–1.10, P = 0.16) or meningioma (10+ years: RR = 1.10, 95% CI = 0.66–1.84, P = 0.71). For acoustic neuroma, there was an increase in risk with long term use vs never use (10+ years: RR = 2.46, 95% CI = 1.07–5.64, P = 0.03), the risk increasing with duration of use (trend among users, P = 0.03).
Conclusions In this large prospective study, mobile phone use was not associated with increased incidence of glioma, meningioma or non-CNS cancers ?
 

La citta di Toronto ha deciso di non procedere alla installazione di wifi nei luoghi pubblici

C'è questa bella notizia che arriva dal Canada.

Questa decisione presa dal Government Management Commitee referibile  al 'comune' di Toronto, segue le prese di posizioni di associazioni, cittadini, esperti che hanno segnalato la criticità della presenza di wifi nei luoghi pubblici per la salute sia delle persone elettrosensbili, ma anche per gli altri cittadini.
 Nel frattempo c'è in atto - vedere altro post nel ns blog -  una commissione scientifica canadese che sta lavorando per rispondere al quesito posto dal Governo canadese  se i limiti di esposizione sono da modificare: questo è l'altro motivo della decisione presa.

Riconosciuti danni (leucemia) dovuti alla presenza di campi magnetici in ambienti di lavoro

Questo recente articolo riporta l'indagine epidemiologica eseguita sui  > 120.000  lavoratori seguiti dal 1986 in poi per verificare se la presenza di campi elettromagnetici a bassissima frequenza (in genere dovuti a macchine elettriche) portino a tumori.

Si è rilevata una correlazione significativa per la leucemia acuta mieloide e per il linfoma follicolare.

Occupational extremely low-frequency magnetic field exposure and selected cancer outcomes in a prospective Dutch cohort

Abstract

Purpose

To investigate the association between exposure to occupational extremely low-frequency magnetic fields (ELF-MF) and the risk of a priori selected cancer outcomes within the prospective Netherlands Cohort Study.

Methods

120,852 men and women aged 55–69 years at time of enrollment in 1986 were followed up (17.3 years) for incident lung, breast and brain cancer, and hemato-lymphoproliferative malignancies. Information on occupational history and potential confounders such as sex, age, smoking, alcohol use, and attained educational level were collected at baseline through a self-administered questionnaire. Occupational ELF-MF exposure was assigned with a job-exposure matrix. Using a case-cohort approach, associations with cancer incidence were analyzed with Cox regression stratified by sex, using three exposure metrics: (1) ever had a job with low or high exposure to ELF-MF versus background, (2) duration of exposure, and (3) cumulative exposure.

Results

None of the exposure metrics showed an effect on incidence for lung, breast, and brain cancer, nor any of the assessed subtypes in men and women. Of the hemato-lymphoproliferative malignancies in men, ever high exposed to ELF-MF showed a significant association with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) [hazard ratio (HR) 2.15; 95 % confidence interval (CI) 1.06–4.35] and follicular lymphoma (FL) (HR 2.78; 95 % CI 1.00–5.77). Cumulative exposure to ELF-MF showed a significant, positive association with FL but not AML among men.

Conclusions

In this large prospective cohort study, we found some indications of an increased risk of AML and FL among men with occupational ELF-MF exposure. These findings warrant further investigation

Attenzione a non usare il cellulare con Skype ...

ovvero ci sono App che permettono di usare il cellulare a costo zero in quanto si utizza ad es. Skype .

Durante lo utilizzo come terminale di trasmissione dati il cellulare usa la tecnologia EDGE che ha maggiore emissione di radiazioni rispetto all'utizzo come telefono (GSM).  I valori di SAR sono misurati infatti durante una trasmissione come GSM.

Quindi fare chiamate gratuite ... costa - ancor di più - in salute!


Can a mobile phone boil an egg?  The mobile phone is believed to have made this. No comments here.
Nevertheless one may ask:” Can a microwave radiation be cause of human death in short time, for example, during a call by the mobile phone?” Common answer is: “No, it cannot.”  Unfortunately in some case right answer is: “Yes, it can.” I mean a situation when the mobile phone is being used for performing the free calls (e.g. by the Skype). In the worst case the phone radiates full power in EDGE technology and a user keeps the phone near head during long time.
Please note the phone can radiate (in the EDGE technology) even eight times as much as in GSM technology.  It is strange, the phone can use several technologies (e.g. GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS) but SAR measurements in the EDGE (the phone can emit the most powerfully in the EDGE) are not required. If manufacturers measured the SAR in the EDGE, the SAR should be much more than 2 W/kg in the head of the user. One can notice that the user does not need to keep the phone near the head when data transfer is using (e.g. in the Skype). I think that common user often does not know about a danger, but he knows well a way of performing the calls with confidentiality. At least I have seen this! Reason of the danger is an elevation of temperature in the head. The elevation of the temperature can be 0.5… 2 ° C in the GSM ( Paolo Bernardi, etc. Specific Absorption Rate and Temperature Increases in the Head of a Cellular-Phone User. IEEE Trans. on MTT, Vol. 48, No.7, July 2000).
 
Thus the elevation can be 4… 16 ° C in the EDGE! Moreover, power irradiation can be increased up to four times near a metallic surface, thus the elevation achieves up to 16…64 ° C. Skin burn can happen, but it is not worst.
Blood cells die at 43 ° C. For this reason the user might have to die soon.
 
WHO and other Authorities should demand relevant safety guidelines from the manufacturers. There are many ways to do the safety guidelines. I would rather that the manufacturers did this. Only a piece of advice – if your phone may work in the EDGE and/or in the GPRS, do not keep it near your head.
 
If the manufacturers ignored safety, they should pay for consequences.
