Electromagnetic Radiation Online Monitoring System in Tehran, Shiraz

The Communications Regulatory Authority has launched an online monitoring system through which people can check the amount of electromagnetic radiation in different areas in Tehran and the southern city of Shiraz.

The data is harvested from 70 monitoring stations in Tehran and 18 in Shiraz. The information is accessible through the ombudsman’s website, CRA.ir, Mehr News Agency reported. 
Based on EMR emission standards, determined by the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection and the Iranian National Standards Organization, the data will be analyzed automatically by a smart computer.
ICNIRP is a non-government organization formally recognized by the World Health Organization. The commission uses health risk assessments developed in conjunction with the WHO to draft guidelines on exposure limits, according to Financial Tribune.
Users can check the amount of electromagnetic radiations for different locations and at varying times. 
Experts believe that the system is a step in the right direction for putting to rest public concerns about the amount of electromagnetic radiation they are exposed to in major urban areas.
The monitoring system was unveiled on the sidelines of the 5th National Conference on Ionizing and Non-Ionizing Radiation Safety and Measurement held on October 18-19 at Kashan University. The system went online soon after.
In addition to setting up more monitoring stations, similar services are to be introduced in other cities.
Electromagnetic Radiation refers to the waves of the electromagnetic field propagating through various sources including cell phones, WiMAX systems, Base Transceiver Station (BTS) antennas, radar waves.
Given the rapid growth in modern technologies, public exposure to such radiations has increased significantly, experts say.
As the range of some electromagnetic fields and waves can affect human body cells, exposure to such radiations can lead to health conditions. Prolonged EMR exposure can cause fatigue, dizziness, headaches, breathlessness, insomnia, and cancer.

 Risultati molto importanti ottenuti da ricercatori del  Research Institute of Occupational Health, Moscow, Russia Ratti Wistar maschi sono stati esposti a radiazioni 24 ore su 24 (250 μW/cm2) per 4 mesi. L'attività esplorativa degli animali (= capacità cognitiva) e le concentrazioni ematiche di ACTH e corticosterone sono state valutate alla fine di ogni mese di esposizione e 1 mese dopo l'esposizione.  L'esposizione è stata effettuata da stazioni base 5G/IMT-2020 con uso simultaneo di canali radio con frequenze centrali a 3,6 GHz (n78 con larghezza di banda di 100 MHz), 28 GHz (n257 con larghezza di banda di 100 MHz) e 37 GHz (n260 con larghezza di banda di 400 MHz).... L'esposizione cronica ha indotto cambiamenti nell'orientamento, nell'attività esplorativa e nello stato emotivo degli animali da esperimento. Il Consiglio d'Europa mette in guardia dalle comunicazioni senza fili

Strasbourg, 27.05.2011 – L'Assemblea Parlamentare del Consiglio d'Europa (PACE), si è incontrata a Kyiv in seduta plenaria e ha approvato una risoluzione per chiedere ai governi europei di "prendere misure ragionevoli" per ridurre l'esposizione ai campi elettromagnetici, soprattutto dalle radiofrequenze della telefonia mobile e "soprattutto l'esposizione dei bambini e dei giovani che sembrano essere più vulnerabili ai rischi di tumore". Secondo i parlamentari, i governi dovrebbero preferire le connessioni via cavo soprattutto per le scuole e i luoghi frequentati da giovani e bisognerebbe regolare in modo più stringente l'uso di cellulari nelle scuole e dare informazione per accrescere la consapevolezza dei rischi che si corrono usando questi dispostivi sul lungo periodo.
